We are in the transition from Swimming back to Water Polo – Spring Training and beginning the planning for Summer.

2007 VARSITY FALL TRAINING CAMP TRIP TO HUNGARY- August 14-26.  Mr. Borisoff is finalizing the intinerary and we should have the final info by the end of this week. 

 

 

CLUB NEWS:   THREE IMPORTANT NOTES

 

1] Dues for the new training period April 1 thru June 20 – Please use the form on the website for Spring Registration.  We will put a link on the home page to get to the form.    Dues are $225.00.  Please give your Spring Registration to Coach B or Coach Istvan as soon as possible.

2] La Canada Water Polo Foundation is now its own non-profit 501c.3 corporation.  More about that in the weeks to come.

 

**** 3] La Canada Water Polo FoundationÕs club program has a new fully time coach:   Istvan Csendes.  In the next few weeks Istvan will be getting to know all of the players and will begin taking on the responsibilities for the club progam.  We are extremely lucky to have someone like Istvan with his background in playing and coaching come to La Canada to help us continue to build the LCWPF program into on of the best .  Please say Hi to Istvan when you see himÉ..

            Conducting National Team Tryouts, National selection camps, Clinics, Water Polo Camps, Tournaments

            Founder of Florida Annual International Age Group Tournament.

            Participating at National JOÕs, Speedo Cups and other National & International Events

Coaching several athletes who are playing water polo in NCA. /Stanford University, Navy, MIT, 

-  Currently USWP level 3 Coach, Referee, Senior Level Player.

 

Education: Associate degree of Sports Science & Water Polo Coaching /National Academy of Physical Education, Budapest Hungary/

 

Other Qualifications: Water Safety Instructor /WSI/ First Responder, CPR & AED trained & Certified,

 

 

FUTURE EVENTS:  PLANNING

 

SPRING PRACTICE:

Spring Practice will be a total of 15 practices (outside our Ò0Ó period class) where the team can have workouts.  Spring Practice dates will be from May 14th  - June 8th.  A specific schedule will be handed out, as we get closer to May. - – Mandatory for all high school players

 

SUMMER PRACTICES:

Summer Practices and summer games will start on June 23rd and run through the end of July. – Mandatory for all high school players

 

2007 LCHS FALL PRACTICE:

We will start fall practice in two parts.  As you all know these are firm dates that CIF determines.

 

Varsity:  Tentative start date will be August 13thto the beginning of school - THESE ARE MANDATORY TRAINING DATES FOR THE VARSITY TEAM.

 

All others: August 20th - to the beginning of school  - THESE ARE MANDATORY TRAINING DATES FOR THE VARSITY TEAM.

LEAGUE GAMES:  8 games ****Is there any way we can petition the league to change this... our competition in D3 mostly has one set of games in league so they have the ability to play more outside games.... Since we do not have a league schedule yet... I had to proceed in scheduling our games without the RHL data.( I have voiced this problem each year).  We will have to get the league teams to move the games around our non-league schedule.....

By signing below the parent or guardian of the Player named above, hereby: 1)            Acknowledges that games, tournaments and other related events ("Events") may or may not be sanctioned by the La Canada School District, US Water Polo, or other sanctioning agencies. 2)        Grants permission for the Player to be transported to Events by any coach, team parent, or other volunteer driver, or by bus provided by the La Canada School District, and agrees that any such drivers shall be indemnified and held harmless for any loss, cost, damage or expense relating to such transportation, except to the extent arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct. 3) Grants permission to any coach or other adult supervising the team or any Event (which may include any team parent designated by the coaching staff) to authorize medical treatment for the Player in the case of any emergency, and agree to pay for all costs associated with the procurement of any medical care or associated transportation provided to the Player.  4)     Certifies that there is no known physical or medical condition, which would limit the ability of the Player to safely engage in the sport of water polo, and accepts all related risks. 5)       Acknowledges that water polo and the training activities associated with water polo involve the risk of serious injury, disability or death, and agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless all coaches, agents, team parents, and other representatives for any injury or property damage sustained by the Player as a result of their participation in the activities contemplated hereby, except to the extent arising out of the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the person so released and indemnified.
